I was running a little late this morning - it was about 9:00 before I even left the house. What do you do when you're running late? Swing by your new house, of course!! These guys must think I'm either with some federal agency, or a stalker - they stare at me everytime I pull up in front of the house to take a picture. Check out that saw on the curb with the safety shield either removed or locked in the open position!! Well, all I can say is if they loose a limb on my property, they better dang well take it with them! I don't want to plant a tree or something and find some dudes arm!! The framing is almost complete, other than a minor issue we found the day before yesterday with the niche being framed incorrectly in the hallway. The dormer windows still need to be added to the front roof. It's coming along nicely!

Moving in - Logan is supervising our efforts. We're currently living with Kimberly's parents till the construction on our new house is finished. Logan's not walking yet, but he sure likes to pull up on stuff!

We're in the process of moving out of our current house. Between packing, and cleaning, we drove out to Providence this morning to see our new house. To our delight, the framing is nearly complete! What a difference a day makes.

We must live in Texas - a little snow falls, and life comes to a stop! I was thinking to myself as I was driving down the street - if there was anyone working, I was going to go to the gas station and buy them each a cup of hot coffee. Needless to say, I didn't have to make that trip to the gas station.

After looking outside and seeing the snow falling, what's the natural thing for someone to want to do? Go for a drive, of course! Kimberly and I dropped Logan off to spend some time with his grandparents, and we headed out to Providence to see if any work had been done on our house - I shot this picture on the way through the main entrance into the development. The windows were wet with melted snow, so the picture is a little blurry.

Today we woke up to the glories of Texas weather. Yesterday I was packing boxes and moving stuff out of our house - all while wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Today, it started raining, then it turned to sleet, and then to snow. It was really nice to see it snow literally all day long, morning till night. The snow made it hard to pack, but not quite as hard as the cold temperatures. When you're wearing shorts one day, and thermals the next, you don't exactly have a lot of time to acclimate to the temperatures!

This is one of a few lakes spread throughout the development. In the summer, there is always at least a couple of families with a picnic setup and a fishing pole in the water. There is also cooking grills spread out at all of the parks. Now, I just need to build our canoe...

This is a street lamp at the corner of Lexington and Bridgeport. We'll be living on Bridgeport, half way down the street on the west side. We drove out here a few months ago, and noticed how dark it actually is at night. There is only scattered street lights, perhaps 3 total for a given block - one at each end, and one in the middle. We commented to our builder about the darkness, and asked if they would be adding more street lights. I know, you're probably wondering why on earth we'd like more lights. Well, I really don't know. I guess it's nice to have it so dark out there, especially when it comes to looking skyward at night. But otherwise, walking around the neighborhood in the dark is a little crazy, particularly in a development that is so community oriented. Oh well, they put a light straight across the street from us. So, if you come over to visit at night, at least you'll be able to see to get out of your car! At least the lights are nice looking. Now, if they could only figure out how to mount them straight...

I took the day off today to watch Logan. Didn't really have anything to do at work anyway, so it was nice to be able to spend some time with the kiddo. Man, he sure is starting to get into trouble! Guess it's a good thing we're moving - don't have to baby proof the house just yet. Anway, I drove out to Providence with Logan to let him take a nap in the car. They poured our slab a few days ago, so we're pretty excited about the progress (now that we have a contract on our current house). This is a shot looking down the street from our neighborhood's entrance. This is not the main entrance, but the entrance to our "village", as they call it. Eventually it will have a fancy stone entrance (I hope...), rather than the ugly construction trailer and equipment that's behind the camera.

This is our neighboring house on the south side. Not a bad looking house, if you ask me. I really like their wrap-around porch with the radiused corner.

Well, here it is. 1909 Bridgeport. At least, I think that is the address. Anyway, the slab is still curing I guess, because no one is working on our house. I'm not complaining - our house still isn't officially sold. As you can see, our yard will have a good deal of slope to it. Not too much, but enough to allow for some nice raised planter beds, maybe built out of stacked stone? Anyone feel like breaking a sweat next fall to stack some rocks? Maybe Logan can help - he's growing pretty fast.

Construction is under way!! Plastic has been laid down over the soil, and the post-tension cables are about to be put in place.

After a long photo shoot for Christmas pictures, Logan is exhausted. He fell asleep in papa's arms.

We drove out to Providence today to see if any dirt had been pushed around yet for our new house. Apparently they must have started work on it a day or two ago, as the perimeter forms have all ready been set, and trenches are dug, and pipes are laid. Progress at last!!! Now, if we can only sell our house...
